Making the qualitative quantitative.

The thinking behind FrontierWrite.

01 / OUR APPROACH

The next learning signal is how people read.

FrontierWrite connects model-generated writing with real readers. Through writing partnerships, we turn audience responses into feedback that teams can use in evaluation and reinforcement learning.

The problem: quality has no single right answer.

A model can produce fluent writing without knowing whether it will be useful, clear or meaningful to the people reading it. In writing, an output can look good in isolation and still fall flat with the people it was meant for.

What makes an article useful, a blog engaging or an explanation clear depends on the audience and context. Human ratings and model-based evaluations offer useful feedback, but they do not fully capture how people respond in real-world settings. Teams need measurable signals from those interactions to evaluate outputs and improve their models.

Endpoints built for learning.

Teams can explore articles, blogs and other writing through Quander’s endpoints. Reading and engagement signals help reveal how people respond; direct reader feedback can add context where collected. We shape the learning environment and measurements around each partnership.

A signal is not the whole objective.

A response is evidence of an interaction, not a universal score for quality. Audience, exposure and context matter. Behavioral rewards should complement controlled comparisons and other quality evaluations.

The infrastructure already exists.

Quander is a Stanford, Cal Poly and NUS team backed by Accel, with existing distribution and measurement infrastructure. We’re opening writing partnerships with model teams, publishers and platforms to study how people respond to writing in context.
